We were introduced to a site in South London with planning in place for new build houses. After a feasibility study we bought it under an SPV joint venture.
It was an unloved, sloping plot, overgrown and with Japanese knotweed. Before any construction we appointed a specialist to remove and dispose of the knotweed.
Planning conditions required a period of air quality monitoring. The plot sits on a busy one-way system next to a bus stand, so we worked closely with Transport for London to agree a traffic management scheme.
Most of the houses are two-storey with pitched roofs, matching the scale of the street. A stepped, single-storey house on the south boundary protects light and outlook for the neighbours.
The scheme adds 501 sqm of new homes on a vacant brownfield site in a prominent spot, and is now complete.
